MEADHAVEN UNITED swept all of the major trophies up for grabs at the St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Supligen Under-20 awards ceremony held at the Pollyanna restaurant on Monday night.

Meadhaven United, who defeated archrivals Tivoli 3-2 in the league and knockout finals, collected the George Thompson league trophy and $150,000 and the Leighton Duncan Knockout trophy and $80,000.

Tivoli Gardens collected $100,000 and $50,000 for being runners-up in both competitions.

Keammar Daley, of Meadhaven United, was voted the most valuable player (MVP) of the league while Tivoli Gardens' striker, Kemar Flemming, copped the league's leading goalscorer award for his 14 strikes.

Tivoli's Gardens' Jermaine Allen was voted the MVP of the knockout competition while Norman Bailey of Meadhaven United, Audley Hanson of Bull Bay, Haldaine James of Real Mona and Allen shared the KO's leading goalscoring title with four goals each.

The guest speaker at the ceremony and president of KSAFA, Stewart Stephenson, said he was delighted with the level of skill shown by the players throughout this year's competitions.

"Just looking back, I don't think that anybody who loves football could find a final more competitive than the game between Meadhaven United and Tivoli Gardens. However, the two finals interestingly finished in 3-2 victories for Meadhaven United," Stephenson said. "I personally want to congratulate the players from both teams for the high quality of football that was played during the season and fact that we had a pretty much incident-free season," he said.
