Education awardees accept their 2003 Gleaner Honour Award from Governor General Sir Howard Cooke at the ceremony held at the Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston last Wednesday. The Gleaner Honour awards are presented annually to Jamaicans who have done exemplary well in their respective fields.

 
The Gleaner/Children's Own Spelling Bee champion, 2003, Trudy McLeary. Last year Trudy also place third in the prestigious Scripps Howard Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
  Dionne Brown, the Prime Minister's 2003 National Awardee. Dionne also received the highest grade in the world in the 2003 general paper.


 
Anika Brown: The recipient of the Grace Kennedy Scholarship in the year 2000.   Oneil Simpson, the winner of the 2003 Inter-American Press Association's (IAPA) Chapultepec essay competition.

 

Sean Ashley: top boy in the Scotiabank Jamaica Foundation Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) 2003.
